You'll be blown away by this before and after!

Hello hello!

It’s Allie here to share another awesome before and after with you—and this one will blow you away!

We all have a piece or two in our home that we accumulated second-hand that is in desperate need of a facelift. And it’s true, a coat of paint really does make all the difference!

We painted this gorgeous dresser in “Billowing Sails” from the Van Gogh Fossil Paint line and we couldn’t be more in love with the transformation! “Billowing Sails” is the perfect antique white with just the right amount of cream to give this colour the warm off- white tone we love!

This is what our little darling looked like when she came into our studio before her makeover.

We immediately saw the potential and got straight to work!

We knew we needed to accentuate her original lines and stunning details—and what better way than a bit of distressing and some antiquing wax!

Expert Furniture Reclaiming #1 Tip:

Distressing is the best way to add a bit of dimension back into your painted piece. For the best, most controlled and natural looking results, lightly sand the edges and any raised details with a fine sanding block or fine sanding pad.

Expert Furniture Reclaiming Tip #2:

For even more dimension, try applying antique beeswax over your piece after you have painted. Apply the antique wax with a wax brush overall, leaving it built up in edges and deep recessed details and wipe away the excess wax with a clean lint free rag.

The original hardware was all intact and it suited the piece perfectly! They did need a bit of a freshening up, so we dry brushed “Vintage Gold Metallic” from the Fusion Mineral Paint line which tied in beautifully with the warm undertone of “Billowing Sails” .

Let’s have one more look at this beauty in all her restyled glory.
