Don't paint the wood!?!
Just kidding!
Obviously most of the time this is exactly what I do - paint the wood! Paint over the tired, scratched up, dated, no longer loved wood . . .
. . . but sometimes . . .
. . . sometimes a piece comes into your life - and even though it looks tired and worn and like it's already 'had it's day' - you can't help but want to save it . . .
. . . and sometimes you come across a piece like this awesome hosier cabinet - and it just has way too much character and charm and warmth and patina to just cover it all up!
So when this happens . . . you just paint some of the wood . . .
and the rest of it you just clean up and sand down and condition with beautiful, glorious, all natural hemp oil . . .
. . . of course, in cleaning up the wood you don't want to remove all of the original charm, the history, the years of love and use . . .
. . . you just want to make sure it will be loved and cherished for many, many more years.
What do you think of this restyle? Would you have saved this piece?
