3 Easy Tips to Incorporate An Accent Colour Into Your Painted Furniture!

Hello you!

One phrase that comes up frequently in conversation with our customers who are just starting their furniture reclaiming journey is:

“I’m afraid to step out of my comfort zone and pick a fun colour for my furniture—but I would love to!”

Well, I am here to share some helpful advice to give you the confidence to just go for it!

1. Start Small

Think in terms of the foot print the piece has in your space. Start with a small side table, accent chair…or even table top decor! This is the easiest way to paint your furniture to incorporate a fun accent colour you love without too much commitment just yet :-)

2. The “Back Panel Pop”

Paint that colour you’re obsessed with in the back panel of your china cabinet or bookshelf. Not only is this a perfect way to incorporate your accent colour, but it’s a beautiful way to showcase the items you’ll have on display!

3. Leave A Little Natural

Just painting the frame of your dresser or the base of your table in your favourite colour is a beautiful way to add a hint of your favourite colour while still tying together the other wood tones in your space.

Just Go For It!

We always remind our customers to not take their furniture so seriously! Pick some pieces to have some fun with!

Like we always say here in the studio:

“Surround yourself with things that make you happy! If a colour makes you happy - GO FOR IT!”
