Ready, Set, ROLL!

Hey there!

It’s Allie here to share one of my absolute FAVOURITE restyling tips with! This tip is guaranteed to make your furniture painting project so much easier!

USE A ROLLER!

But really—using a small micro fibre roller to apply coats of your Mango Paint to all the flat areas of your furniture is the best way to ensure your piece has a flawless, streak-free finish.

Our professional strategy is to always use a Mango Paint 2" Ultra Soft Brush to get the paint into all the edges, grooves and details first, then use the micro fibre roller to clean up all those seams.
This is the best technique to help avoid those pesky brush strokes.

Quick tips for using a roller and paint tray:

- pour paint into lower reservoir of the tray (careful not to overfill)

- dip the roller lightly into the paint to cover one side of the roller

- run the roller back and forth on the ‘ramp’ of the tray to evenly distribute the paint on the roller and to remove any excess paint

- apply roller to your project with light and consistent pressure

Trust the Process

Don’t worry—It is not uncommon for your first coat of paint to look uneven!

In general, your coats will be thinner with a roller which will allow for shorter dry times, but may require an extra coat for solid even coverage . . . but trust me, IT’S WORTH IT!

The key is to allow the paint to dry about 2-4 hours before applying additional coats! Trying to correct the unevenness while the paint is still wet is the #1 cause of creating texture - which is totally not cute!!

Bonus Tip:

  • Wrap your roller in plastic wrap between coats as to not waste your paint!
