'Morning Mist' dining room reveal! {part 1}

I am so gracious to my clients who allowed me into their home earlier this week to photograph their newly restyled dining room set!!

Moving into a new (and larger) home meant that they now had the space to set aside for a grand dining room - a space to entertain and host dinner parties! A space to set the table for 8 or 10 or 12 guests. The problem was, they didn't have the right dining furniture to fill the space . . .

 . . . but I did!

Let's call my clients 'T' & 'C'.

T. & C. were looking for a very large table that wouldn't look 'lost' in their dining room. They were also in search of chairs, a hutch and a sideboard. Luckily we had a great table, chairs and a hutch in our inventory that we thought would do the trick.

What do you think?

Would you like to be invited to a dinner party here?

There are so many beautiful things to look at in this room - let's start with these chairs!

There are two different sets of chairs here, but they work really well together. Both sets had nice cane backs and similar lines, and once painted out in van Gogh's Morning Mist they look like they were made to be together!

Here are a few close up shots so you can get a better idea of what they look like. After painting all of the chairs in 'Morning Mist', I did some mild distressing, then applied both furniture and antiquing wax to highlight the details.

T. & C. picked out some really beautiful soft neutral fabric to have all the seats reupholstered and they turned out great!

So pretty . . .

Of course you always need to have beautiful flowers on the table - you know how I feel about flowers, right?!

Oooh! And check out the mason jars painted up and distressed - these make the easiest and prettiest little flower vases! Put a few together and they make a great centrepiece!

The table was restyled in van Gogh's 'Cashmere' - which is a beautiful creamy colour that looks beautiful on everything! Here's a close up of the mild distressing that was done on the corners and some of the edges:

The difference between the creamy 'Cashmere' on the table, and the soft white 'Morning Mist' on the chairs is quite subtle overall.

Did you catch a glimpse of the sideboard and hutch in the background? More to come on those pieces next week!

Do you want to see the 'before' pictures? I know you do . . .

For some reason I can only find a 'before' picture of one of set of the chairs, they used to look like this:

Here's a 'before' glimpse at the table:

Let's finish this post where we started . . . in this beautiful dining room!

Thank you again to T. & C. for allowing me to take and share these pictures!
