A secretary - Muse, and Starry Night end tables.

Hello!

It's been a while since I completed these projects so it's about time I share! First up is an old secretary desk in need of a restyle and brought to me by a customer for just that reason.  These sweet customers are no strangers to having their furniture custom restyled by Mango Reclaimed - you may recall a post about their restyled sewing table here.

When they brought their desk in, it looked something like this:

Great lines and good bones but a little banged up and a bit too dark. Actually, in the above picture we had already removed the hardware, sanded down the finish in preparation for painting and even did some minor repairs - such as reattaching a broken leg and adding a new trim piece around the bottom.

Muse was the colour choice for this desk to give it a lighter and brighter feel.  Muse is one of those colours that just looks great on everything. It's light and bright and almost a neutral - with a subtle and refreshing green undertone. Using van Gogh Fossil paint to paint out the desk along with some mild distressing helped to hide a lot of the small imperfections . . . .

The original hardware was pretty fantastic so we kept it just as it was. Beautiful!

While we're here, I also want to share with you some van Gogh painted end tables. These were done in a combination of Starry Night and Chivalry, and I just adore the little navy knobs. One of these tables was completed as a custom order and the other is available for purchase in the studio. If you're interested, contact us.

Thanks for tuning in! If you have questions about anything we do here at Mango Reclaimed we would love to hear from you!
