I know, I know, it's another random selection of pieces to share with you - this just may be the way it is from now on, please bear with me. I have been painting away at the studio getting some things ready for the showroom. Here's what I've been working on lately . . .
I love this dresser! When I finished painting her I realized I may have a problem - I fall in love with everything I paint . . . how will I part with everything? I guess just knowing that my little home can't house all of these great pieces will have to be enough. I will love them and then set them free.
This dresser was painted using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. The drawer fronts are 'kitchen scale' (love this colour!), and the rest is 'shutter grey'. The whole thing has been distressed in the beautiful 'chippy' way that only milk paint can do. To finish this piece new hardware was added and the whole thing was sealed using van Gogh natural beeswax. (Soon to be available at Mango Reclaimed, $375)
You know I love showing off the details.
Ok, now for the bench. A practical beauty - function and storage, who doesn't want that? This bench would be great in a front entrance or a bedroom.
This bench was painted using Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint. The majority of it was done in 'shutter grey' (including inside the storage bench). The spindles are done in 'kitchen scale' for a subtle pop of colour. Again the whole thing has been lightly distressed and the whole thing was sealed using van Gogh natural beeswax. I absolutely love using this wax to finish furniture. (Soon to be available at Mango Reclaimed, $225)
Ok, I know I said that I love the dresser and I love the bench, but honestly I swoon over this mirror. A beautiful antique piece that has been restyled to perfectly suit a stylish home today. This one must be seen in person to fully appreciate it - my photo's just don't do it justice!
Originally a dark wood, this mirror frame was chalk painted using van Gogh 'chivalry'. I love using chivalry over dark wood and then distressing it to have some of the original colour come through - gorgeous! Once distressed the frame was sealed using the Miss Mustard Seed White Wax which gives it a rich white wash over the whole thing. Gorgeous! (Soon to be available at Mango Reclaimed, $185)
