What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

Hi there! It's Wednesday and that means I want to share what you have been working on!

Using our van Gogh limited edition colour 'Zepplin', Kaitlin has restyled these chairs to go perfectly in her dining room. Kaitlin mentioned that finding chairs that looked good with her traditional table but also worked with her more contemporary taste was a challenge, so when she found the dining room chairs that she had grown up with in her parents basement she decided to redo them. . . as it turns out her grandmother had bought them second hand in Winnipeg almost 60 years ago! These chairs look great again and instead of sitting in the basement they get front row seating (and everyday use) in Kaitlin's dining room - nice work!

Sweet Melissa dropped in the studio recently for some advice and inspiration. Before the end of the day she had gone home, painted and waxed both of these tables, brought them back in her home, staged them up, photographed them and sent the pictures to me. . . how's that for motivation?? I love your enthusiasm Melissa - and the tables look great too!

Laura did a beautiful job restyling this vanity and chair! It has gone from dark and dated to cheerful and inviting. The yellow is a beautiful colour choice and forgoing distressing has left this piece looking fresh and clean. Small crystal knobs finish the pair perfectly. Nice work Laura!

How adorable is this?? Emma took a van Gogh workshop at Mango Reclaimed a few weeks ago - then she went home and created this! What an inspiring way to makeover an old dresser. Using van Gogh paint, her imagination and some TLC, Emma restyled this dresser into a super cute wardrobe for her daughter! I love it Emma!

As always, thank YOU for sharing your projects with me - I love showing off all your hard work and creativity!

Better Loved Than Lost - our Online Inventory is Launched!

Hi there! If you're new around here you might not know that I LOVE to paint furniture.

If you're not so new around here you probably already know this, and you may have even been to my studio. . . some of you may have even been given the 'backstage pass' to see my storage room. If this is you - I honestly thank you for not calling 'Hoarders' on me!

For those of you who haven't seen my treasure trove of a storage room . . . have I got a treat for you!

Inventory day started out innocently enough. I wanted to do a proper inventory of my storage room. I wanted to have a catalogue of all the items available to paint, either for my showroom, or custom restyled for my customers. Funny enough, I bought this t-shirt from Guess a while ago, and while at the time I bought the shirt because the slogan spoke to me on a personal level, I now realize that it applies to my furniture as well. I like to collect, save and restyle furniture - I really believe it is better loved than lost.

So with this goal in mind and my team of super awesome help, we started to pull a couple things out of storage . . .

 . . . and then we brought out a few more things . . .

 . . . and a few more . . .

. . . of course my dad was there to help (he always is - love you dad!) . . . so we just kept on bringing things outside. . .

. . . I mean seriously, how much stuff can fit in one little storage room?

I was so excited to see all my treasures out on display that I decided to hop up on the roof and get a few better shots . . .

Wowsa - that's a whole lotta dusty furniture!

Wowsa - that's a whole lotta dusty furniture!

Can you believe we pulled every single item out, cleaned it up, measured it, photographed it and then Tetris style piled it back into storage?!? What this means for you my dear friend is that you can now browse through all my treasures from the luxury of your home computer because we just launched our Online Inventory!! Check it out under 'inventory' - it has pictures, dimensions, pricing for a ton of items and it's completely sortable! Whether you want to restyle them yourself or if you want us to restyle them for you - together we can love some lost furniture.

New items are always being added to this list so please check back often!

. . . and here's a few action shots of my dedicated and hard working team! THANK YOU!!!

What'cha workin' on Wednesday?!?

Wednesday! Time to share what'cha been workin' on!

Check out these inspirational restyles done by you - my awesome customers!

First up are these two tables restyled using van Gogh's 'van Gogh' blue by the very talented Danielle! I love how she incorporated numbers on the table tops which represent important family dates (birthdays, anniversaries etc.). Distressing along with a combination of clear and dark waxes give these tables a great finished look!

Next up is this sweet little occasional table restyled by Kathryn. Kathryn also used a stencil on her piece, but instead of numbers she chose a decorative Paris motif. I love the two tone affect and the new decorative knob! (also from Mango Reclaimed).

After attending a recent Mango Reclaimed workshop with a bunch of her work colleagues, Jennifer went home and restyled this little dresser by underpainting in 'Cashmere' and overpainting in 'Starry Night'. I love the colour combination . . . it's a whole new dresser! Good job Jennifer!

Looks like I'm not the only one who has been using van Gogh to paint their fabric! Check out this bench seat restyled by Ann. I love the blue and the soft white together!

Ann also painted out this old stereo cabinet - speakers and all! She's not afraid to tackle any project - great job Ann!

Last but certainly not least is this table base restyled by Beth. Wow! Beth took a workshop at Mango Reclaimed recently and has been painting up a storm ever since. I can't wait to see the bench she's currently working on!

When out looking for a new table with a glass top, Beth came across this table base and although it wasn't the colour she was hoping for, she knew that some van Gogh 'Cashmere' and a bit of 'french caffeine beeswax' and she could have the beautiful table she was dreaming of. Stunning work Beth - you have mastered the art of the french caffeine wax finish for sure!

Thanks again for sharing your projects with me - I love showing off all your hard work and creativity!
