What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

Happy Wednesday friends!

How was your long weekend?!? Did you get any painting done, lol??

Let's take a look at what'cha been workin' on, shall we?

First up this week is a cute console table restyled by Debbie:

This table was painted with van Gogh furniture paint in 'River Tides', a beautiful soft blue that now adds a nice hit of colour to the hallway.

Debbie was so excited to start this project that she almost forgot to snap a 'before' picture. Don't worry Debbie - this happens to me all the time, lol! I just get so anxious to start a project that I completely forget to pick up my camera before jumping in! Ok, whose kidding who, I use my phone for 95% of the pictures I take . . . when did that happen? When did our phones replace our cameras? I would be so lost without my phone . . . .

Oops! Sidetracked there a moment, haha! Here is a peak at Debbie's 'almost before' picture:

I love the colour you chose Debbie! It's always fun to introduce a bit of colour on a smaller piece - thanks so much for sharing!

Next up this week is a unique little antique cabinet restyled by Sue.  Using van Gogh's 'Zeppelin' - a grey that really looks great on everything!

I like that Sue kept the top a natural wood finish - even I believe that you don't have to paint everything, lol! Love the new hardware you chose from our studio as well Sue!

Here's a look at the cabinet 'before'. It was an interesting little cabinet with loads of charm, but a little rough around the edges . . . nothing some paint and TLC cant fix!

Great job Sue! Thank you for sharing!

Speaking of Zeppelin grey and natural wood tops . . . check out these adorable end tables restyled by Elizabeth!

Just fantastic! Thanks for sharing Elizabeth! Keep up the great work!

What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

Happy Wednesday!

Let's take a look at what'cha been workin' on . . .

I'm going to be completely honest here, sometimes a project turns out to be a lot more work than initially planned. Sometimes there are moments when you want to completely abandon a project because you just can't see past what I call the 'ugly stage'. . . Sometimes you just need to walk away from a project, move on to a success or victory elsewhere . . but I encourage you to always come back! Sometimes your previously loved piece of furniture and you just need a little time apart, some time to really understand each other. Let it breathe.

Because I guarantee you, if you stick with your vision, you will get there:

How beautiful is this piece restyled by Elizabeth? It looks fantastic - but I know this one wasn't achieved without a bit of heartache and some long and late hours!

Here is a peak at the dresser before Elizabeth worked her magic. A beautiful piece for sure, great curves, great legs . . . who would have guessed that this piece would cause so much havoc. It looks like a simple enough piece to restyle. Elizabeth had a vision to remove the bottom drawers to replace with baskets for some less formal storage, sand and stain the top and paint the rest out in van Gogh's beautiful 'Patina'. . .

Everything was going along swimmingly, until this happened:

Do you see all that horrible 'bleed through'?? Who would have guessed that this perfectly prepped dresser would bleed through red after being painted and finished?!? Sometimes these previously loved pieces have had a history that we can't see just from looking at them (previous stains, cleaners, etc).  Obviously it couldn't stay like this - and the good news is, it didn't! Elizabeth stuck with her vision, worked through the 'ugly stage' using various methods to seal in the bleed through, then re-paint and finish this piece.

And I'm so glad she did - because it looks amazing! Thank you for sharing Elizabeth!!

Next up this week: Nichole had similar aspirations as Elizabeth and removed a drawer from this dresser to house her TV components. Painted out in a soft white - this vintage buffet now works (and looks) great!! Nice work - thanks for sharing Nichole!

Last but definitely not least this week is Danielle's table after that she did a gorgeous job restyling! The top of the table and the seat of the chairs were completely stripped down and stained in a mahogany stain. The table base and chair frames however were scuffed and painted out in van Gogh's Revenge - a rich and beautiful black! The combination is so classic looking - fantastic job Danielle!!

Danielle was so anxious to get started on this project that she forgot to take a before picture . . . but she sent this one along that she said looks just like her set did before she started:

As always, thank YOU for sharing your projects with me - I love showing off all your hard work and creativity!

What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

Hi there!

Happy Wednesday - I hope you're having a great week! It's so nice outside!!

Let's take a look at what'cha been workin' on, shall we? Up this week is cream on cream on cream! 3 great restyles from dark and drab to light and fab, lol!

First up, let's take a look at Estela's cabinet 'before'. We all know this one, most of us own something just like it:

And now here is Estela's cabinet after being restyled in van Gogh fossil paint using the soft creamy white colour: 'chalk'. It looks so pretty now! Great job Estela - thank you for sharing!

Next up this week is another dark piece that's been brought to the lighter side. Check out Emily's dresser 'before' and 'after' pictures below . . . it looks like a whole new piece! So much lighter and fresher. Beautiful work Emily - thank you for sharing!

And last but definitely not least this week is a console table restyled by Christine. Again this piece went from dark and damaged to light and bright. Strategically place distressing over this piece helps keep the look soft. Well done Christine - thank you for sharing!

. . .and here is a glimpse at the 'before':
