What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

Happy Wednesday!

We are working our little tails off a the studio right now - so many exciting projects coming together because I am super mega excited for our grand re-opening celebration coming up on May 6th! There is nothing like a deadline to kick my internal pinterest dreams into high gear reality!

I hope you can stop into the studio on the 6th to celebrate with us - we have lots of ways we plan on showing you just how much we appreciate you!

For now though - let's take a look at what'cha been workin' on, shall we?!?

This week were showcasing the painting skills of two awesome photographers that we are so lucky to have as customers!

First up this week with a major colour pop is a bedroom restyled by Laurel of Laurel Leaf Photography. Laurel has a big beautiful personality and originally had a softer vision for her daughter Cielle's room - but Cielle had colour ideas of her own . . . what an amazing mom to just go for it! I mean, how crazy good does this room look?

Wowzers!! The desk was restyled using 'Revenge' and the bed was restyled using 'Confidence' from our van Gogh paint line. Amazing Laurel - thanks so much for sharing with us!

Next up this week is an adorable cabinet restyled by Andrea of Trio Photography. Andrea wrote a great blog post about how she restyled this cabinet to store a collection of vintage items, especially a collection of salt and pepper shakers passed down from her grandfather - don't you just love that?? If you want to read her post and see more pictures of this great cabinet, you can check it out here

This cutie cabinet was restyled with 'chalk' from our van Gogh paint line . . . and some serious modge podge! Love it! Thanks so much for sharing your creativity with us Andrea!

Oh, while were gushing, let's remember that Andrea is no stranger to modge podge restyling projects - you might remember her Calvin and Hobbes inspired dresser with 'And Your Little Dog Too' van Gogh paint from a while back . . .

So awesome!

Thank you so much to everyone for sending in their pictures! Can't wait to see what you do next!

What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

I'm not sure why I just said that, lol!

Anyhow, it's Wednesday, so let's take a look at what'cha been workin' on!

First up this week is a super creative dresser restyle using van Gogh paint, Mode Podge and a whole lotta Calvin and Hobbes

Andrea took her love of these comic book characters to a whole new level with this dresser! The framework was painted overall using 'And Your Little Dog Too', which is a gorgeous vibrant red from the van Gogh collection, and the drawers and top were completely Modge Podged with a collage of Calvin and Hobbes. So creative!

Andrea is also a photographer - can you tell from these great detail shots??

What an awesome project! Thanks so much for sharing this with us Andrea!

To check out some of Andrea's photography work you can pop over to her website here, or her Facebook page here!

And here's one last look - with the 'before' as well.

Next up this week is a beautiful secretary desk restyled by Belinda. This dresser was also painted using van Gogh paint, but this time in 'River Tides' which is one of my signature custom colours! I also love the painted hardware - what a gorgeous combination!

Belinda didn't have a  picture of her desk before she painted it (probably too excited to get started on her project as I often am, lol)! However she was able to find this picture that she swears is almost identical to what her desk looked like before . . .

Thanks for sharing Belinda - you did a fantastic job!

Speaking of van Gogh custom colours at Mango Reclaimed, this next dresser was painted in 'Calm Sea's', which is another one of my signature colours! I just love this somehow both soft and vibrant sweet green - it looks gorgeous with yellows or rich blues.

This piece was painted by some good friends of mine at Stan Portley's, over in London. Thanks for sharing!!

As always, thank YOU for sharing your projects with me - I love showing off all your hard work and creativity!

If you have restyled something in your home using products from Mango Reclaimed and want to be featured on What'cha workin' on Wednesday?!?, please e-mail your before and after pictures to [email protected].

Looking forward to hearing from you!

A bedroom set in Chivalry.

Hello and Happy Friday! Recently I was asked to custom restyle a bedroom set for a sweet girl who was lucky enough to be getting her entire bedroom redesigned. In addition to getting  new bedding, freshly painted walls and new flooring, her wooden bedroom set was brought to Mango Reclaimed to be given a whole new look. Customers will often bring in some of their paint swatches or couch cushions, or inspiration images when coming to the studio to consult on how to restyle their furniture and this customer was no exception, she arrived with her brand new bedding in hand and brought along a few family members for consulting reassurance.

The bedding was a beautiful white with hits of soft grey and reds so this is what we used as our jumping point to restyle her bedroom set, which consisted of a sleigh bed, a dresser, a tv stand and a bedside table.

I love really love this sleigh bed - it has such beautiful lines and once we van Gogh painted it out in Chivalry, added a little distressing and some natural beeswax it looked gorgeous!

These wooden crates were given a quick restyle using Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint in 'Eulalie's Sky' - watch for them in upcoming Holiday Mini photo sessions by Trinity Design.

A few details . . .

Like I mentioned, we also restyled a large dresser to go with this set. I played around with some different hardware options as I wasn't sure what my customer was going to choose. I knew this wasn't right for her room, but I loved how the turquoise knobs added a little pop of colour and playfulness to the dresser.

I also tried some softer blue ceramic knobs on this dresser to see how they looked.

We also restyled a small TV stand for the same bedroom.

Now, I realize that this is starting to look a little bit 'grey on grey on grey', however we did have a bit of fun with the bedside table. Adding a pop of colour in 'And Your Little Dog Too'.

As you can see I was still playing around with some hardware options, and my customer hadn't yet selected what they wanted for the bedside table so we don't even have the holes drilled at this point. I love how adding a small punch of colour to one piece of this set brings the whole thing together. I'm sure with all of the final hardware choices in place and the brand new bedding, walls and floors - this bedroom set looks fantastic.

What do you think? How do you like the pop of red? Which hardware choice was your favourite? Let us know in your comments below - we would love to hear from you!
