What'cha Workin' on Wednesday?!?

Happy Wednesday!!

Let's take a look at what'cha been workin' on, shall we?

First up this week is a beautiful restyle using Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint. Lee did a great job (as always) transforming this piece and filling it with character. The 'dried lavender' and 'ironstone' make a perfect combination - it's so cute!

There is a lot of 'chippy goodness' happening on this piece - which makes it look really authentically barn aged. I love the addition of chicken wire! Such beautiful work Lee - thanks for sharing!!

Here's a peak at the 'before':

Next up this week is a set of dining chairs restyled by Carole and Amy using van Gogh Fossil paint in 'Revenge'. You can never go wrong with classic black!

Isn't that new fabric just perfect for these chairs??

Here's a pic of the dining room with all the beautifully restyled chairs:

Here are some images of the chairs 'before' - they really needed this makeover! Great job Carole & Amy! Thanks so much for sharing!

Let's end on a super cheerful note this week with this restyled kids desk! Andrea didn't shy away from colour on this one and I love the result! What little kid wouldn't love to call this their desk?!?

Such a happy little desk.

Thanks for sharing Andrea!

Hello there! I hope you have enjoyed a nice long weekend with family and friends!

We still have room for a few more people in this Wednesday's class.

Check out these two lovely restyles done using Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint. First up is this great storage filled hutch. Coral for spring!

Wow - we've had a few nice sunny days in a row here! Don't you just love the magical powers of the sun? A few moments with the sun shining on your face can really lift your spirits . . .

With spring in the air I want to share with you two recent projects completed here at Mango Reclaimed. These pieces are beautiful and coral, coral, coral! Coral is one of my favorite colours right now - and that surprises even me! I never really thought of myself as a 'coral' kinda girl, typically loving the pale greys, blues and soft greens of water.

I've been playing with 'Apron Strings' from the Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint line recently and am in love! Check out this beautiful accent chair:

Adorable accent pillow designed by The Inspiration Nest , also available at Mango Reclaimed and pairs perfectly with this chair. Accent chair, $75, accent pillow including down insert, $60.

This chair has an authentically weathered 'chippy lovliness' that can really only be achieved with milk paint. Some details:

Once I started, I couldn't stop - I wanted more coral!  This mirror practically begged me to be prettied up in some nice light colours to restyle it from its original heavy dark finish (yes, on occasion furniture actually talks to me, lol). I chose a combination of 'Apron Strings' and 'Ironstone' for this mirror.

Here is a picture of the whole thing - it's difficult to photograph mirrors . . .always something distracting in the reflection. Any tips for me?

Mirror available at Mango Reclaimed, $150.

Restyled! Milk Paint lovelies.

How's your holiday shopping going? If you're like me - you're only about half done at this point . . . it's so hard to find the time! Don't panic, it will all come together as it should - it usually does.

How about a few pretty pictures to calm your mind. . .

I love this shelf! Milk painted in Mustard Seed Yellow and Grain Sack it's perfect for just about any room in the house. Seriously.

A beautiful pop of colour in your entryway (with storage for keys, mitts, shoes) . . . stylish storage for towels in the bathroom / linens in the hallway or laundry room / dining room platters and dishes / toy storage or even as a change table in baby's room.

This shelf has it's original hardware, is beautifully distressed and completely versatile.  If someone doesn't pick her up soon I might just take her home with me :)

Ok, now how about these bedside tables? Again milk painted and beautifully distressed in the chippy awesome way that only milk paint can do. These stunners are 50's era solid built bedside tables with plenty of storage. They've been painted in Ironstone and Dried Lavender, and the original hardware was given a restyle using twine to soften the look. Love!
