Playing with Bergere and Mora.

The beautiful new European colours for the Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint line have arrived!

I recently had the privilege of playing with some of the new European colours (before they even hit the shelves)! With the perfect piece in mind for a milk paint project I got to work.

Being a 'blue' girl myself, the fist colour I mixed up was of course 'Bergere', a beautiful smokey blue . . .

Also being a lover of all things grey, I mixed up some 'Mora'

With a 'thirsty' dresser like this one, I knew the milk paint would go on and adhere beautifully without the need for any bonding agent. Two quick coats of each colour and I was almost done. After painting, I did a thorough overall sand to a smooth finish (as I do with all projects before applying a final protective product) with just a hint of distressing.

Then I took some beautiful (and all natural) hemp oil and applied it to the entire piece - inside, outside and all. . . the hemp oil adds a protective water-resistant layer to both bare wood or milk painted wood surfaces.

Isn't she beautiful?!?

This dresser is currently available. Please stop by the studio or e-mail: melanie@mangoreclaimed.com if you are interested in purchasing it.

Oh yah, I added some new antiqued brass hardware as well, I think they look perfect against the soft grey 'Mora'.

Ooh! And check out the inside - the hemp oil really revived the raw wood - and check out that glorious storage!

Let's have a quick look at the before and after side by side one last time:

What do you think? Are you excited to try out the new European colours?

They're here - beautiful European Milk paint colours!

They're finally here! We have just got an exciting shipment in at the studio - the gorgeous European colours in Miss Mustard Seed's Milk paint line have arrived!

We had the luxury of playing with some of these colours before they hit the shelves and painted a beautiful dresser in a combination of Mora and Bergere - another post coming soon about that piece soon. . . but for now have a look at the swoon worthy images created by Miss Mustard Seed showcasing all 6 of the gorgeous new colours.

say hello to arabesque…

Think ballet tights, dusty pink tutus and pale tea roses and you’ll have a good idea what to expect from Arabesque.  This decidedly feminine color is also surprisingly neutral, making this pink one that goes beyond nurseries.

say hello to bergere…

This smokey blue gray inspired by the painted frames of a pair of antique French Bergere chairs.  This blue is more subtle than the other blues in our line, but still makes a statement.

say hello to layla’s mint…

A warm, minty green that fits perfectly in the subtle European colour collection.

say hello to marzipan…

Named for the delicious almond paste famous in Germany, Marzipan is an equally delicious warm neutral.  It’s an off-white with beige and warm gray undertones. It pairs beautifully with Ironstone for a subtle contrast.

say hello to mora…

Mora is named for the famous curvy clocks made in Mora, Sweden.  It is a whisper of a color – a neutral with gray, blue and green undertones.

say hello to schloss…

This rich, stone color is named Schloss, the German word for castle.  It’s warmer and richer than Trophy, making it a perfectly beautiful “greige”.

All of these colours are now available at Mango Reclaimed - which colour is your favourite?
